Project designer

Presentation:

  • The mission of the project designer is to contribute to the definition of machine concepts, define and design workstations for industrialization projects.

Context:

  • The project designer's mission, in collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineering project team, is to define and implement assembly concepts for our production lines.

  • He is the guarantor of compliance with thyssenkrupp Presta's standard design technical specifications at each phase of the project. As such, he or she may be called upon to propose modifications to product design or to the order of assembly stages.

  • He or she drafts the documentation relating to his or her scope during the tendering phases for new assembly machines. During the various design reviews and in collaboration with the whole project team, he analyzes, criticizes and then validates the offers from the various suppliers.

  • He then ensures the intermediate (if applicable) and above all final acceptance of the means of production by participating in the functionality test phases. As part of an in-house project, he/she may design the tools for assembly.

  • The project designer contributes to the success of the Ramp'up phase by analyzing and interpreting key indicators (cycle time, rework/reject rate, efficiency, etc.) and defining an action plan to correct deviations or optimize productivity. He/she must also ensure the transfer of technical knowledge and documentation (3D CAD files, tool plans...) to the teams operating the production resources (production, maintenance, support teams...)

Possible career prospects:

  • Hierarchical : evolution towards managerial functions

  • Transversal : changing departments to take on new challenges and make the most of technical expertise

  • Geographical : international opportunities within the group
