In Fameck, we began by freeing up the necessary space: some machines that had become obsolete were dismantled, others were moved to clarify flows and improve ergonomics. This move is never insignificant for the teams: it upsets habits, imposes adjustments and puts our organization to the test. But it also opens up new possibilities. The new equipment, dedicated to the production of intermediate axes, has been gradually installed since the beginning of May. They come with a very concrete promise: more stable operations, calmer start-ups, controlled quality from day one.
In a sometimes tense regional context, where other companies are experiencing difficulties, and when other Group sites are facing a deteriorated economic situation, our course remains firm. Our sales are in line with our budget targets and, above all, the efforts made in recent months have restored confidence.
These investments have not fallen from the sky: they reward rigor at the workstation, the attention paid to safety, the precision of methods, the responsiveness of maintenance, and the coordination of logistics and quality departments. In short, they recognize a team spirit that is our strength.
"The arrival of these new machines is not just a sign of growth; it's recognition of everyone's hard work and a show of confidence." Sébastien Kuhn, CEO
In concrete terms, the next few weeks will be punctuated by clear milestones, shared with all the business lines. The first power-ups and no-load tests will give way to process qualifications and quality audits. Once the lights are green, we'll start up gradually, with a controlled ramp-up and regular feedback. This approach is accompanied by a targeted training program for operators, maintenance, quality and methods. At every stage, safety remains our guiding principle: risk analyses, reinforced HSE (Health Safety Environment) briefings and on-site support will guarantee serene working conditions.
This project also has an essential human dimension. Changing a layout, redesigning a flow, learning a new interface all mean stepping out of your comfort zone. We're doing this together, by giving everyone points of reference: regular information points, identified referents and forums for sharing questions and ideas. Because modernizing a site only makes sense if it makes working life easier, reduces drudgery, and enables our talents to express themselves to the full.
On a broader scale, the transformation of Fameck affirms the role of thyssenkrupp Presta France in the Group's industrial strategy. By consolidating our capacity on intermediate axes, we are serenely preparing our future start-ups and strengthening our long-term competitiveness. It's a milestone that counts, here in Moselle, for our teams and for the local economic fabric.
